MaryNoe Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 I have a client for whom we need to file an FBAR for 2022. However, I don't know whose name the FBAR should be filed for. The taxpayer died in October 2022. All foreign accounts were solely in his name, but all were transferred to his surviving spouse Quote
Lee B Posted August 21, 2023 Report Posted August 21, 2023 "Unlike Form 8938, the FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) is not filed with the IRS. It must be filed directly with the office of Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), a bureau of the Department of the Treasury, separate from the IRS.Sep 28, 2022" 1 Quote
