Max W Posted July 11, 2023 Report Posted July 11, 2023 Yesterday, I received an IRS audit report that was mailed, first class, on June 6 from zip code 94903 to 95747, both in CA. It had a Japanese meter stamp from Hayama, Japan, 670 yen, dated June 29. Handwritten below the address window was "USA". It also had a blue "Air Mail" stamped on the envelope. I assume that was applied here. This is the second time something like this has happened. Last year, it was a client's large envelope that went the same route. There may be a problem with the bar code strip, or the code reader. Those strips are applied by the sender (IRS). 1 Quote

Catherine Posted July 14, 2023 Report Posted July 14, 2023 I sent a birthday card, years ago, from central MA to south-eastern MA. About a hour or hour and a quarter's drive away, about a week before the day in question. The card arrived nearly a month late, postmarked Schenectady NY, with boot-prints on the envelope. We still chuckle about it. Quote
BulldogTom Posted July 14, 2023 Report Posted July 14, 2023 off topic a little bit - frustrating as all get out... My brother has custody of his granddaughter. She is the cutest thing. My wife made a dress and a skirt/top for her 2 weeks ago and shipped USPS box. Was supposed to arrive on Monday. Got there on Thursday minus the skirt/top. Why would someone do that? Lee B Posted July 14, 2023 Report Posted July 14, 2023 Decades ago after 4 years in the Army, I worked at the Eugene Postal Sectional Processing Center for several years before I decided to go back to college. Even back then in the 1970s theft by postal employees was a problem. Employee theft has been one of the primary focus of Postal Inspectors for a long long time. 1 Quote
Catherine Posted July 14, 2023 Report Posted July 14, 2023 Because there are thieves, and they don't give the bleep. Sometimes I hate people in general. My sympathies to your wife for her stolen efforts and fabrics, and your niece for not getting something made for her with love. Quote
