This one is going to take a LOT of study. I can see problems for the practitioner, especially one who prepared the original return that is now being challenged. For clients in a divorce, we will need to recommend legal counsel before providing some of the information now being demanded -- current income and expenses, allegations of forgery and domestic abuse, details about how financial decisions were managed during the marriage, and plenty more.
