JackieCPA Posted July 3, 2023 Report Posted July 3, 2023 Since the Main Info tab cannot be customized in the master forms - is there a way to get this box to be automatically checked for everyone or is it something that has to be looked at per client? Quote
Abby Normal Posted July 3, 2023 Report Posted July 3, 2023 For new clients, create a blank return with everything the way you want it. Duplicate this blank return to set up a new client. For existing clients, it should rollover. 1 Quote

Sara EA Posted July 4, 2023 Report Posted July 4, 2023 In all the years I have used it and the client had an issue, the IRS still demanded the 2848 before they would talk to me. Our software automatically checks it, but in practice it's useless. 5 Quote
jklcpa Posted July 4, 2023 Report Posted July 4, 2023 I was able to use it successfully on one occasion when the contact with IRS was made within 12 mos of filing. Other than that one time, it seems rather pointless. 3 Quote
Lion EA Posted July 4, 2023 Report Posted July 4, 2023 I have my software set to check that automatically. I've been able to use it a couple times, saving getting a 2848 signed and filed. But, it is only good for a year. 4 Quote
