NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 I called the IRS regarding a client letter. After answering his phone, giving me his ID# all I hear are crickets and screaming kids for over five minutes. This is really annoying. I think that I found my new retirement job. I can do this. 1 1 Quote
NECPA in NEBRASKA Posted April 3, 2023 Author Report Posted April 3, 2023 Update to prior phone call. He never came back to the phone in 15 minutes. He apparently laid it down and left. I called again and it was answered by a very nice rep who transferred me to balance due for my clients, wait time expected 35-50 minutes. That's OK, went about my work. Phone was picked up and immediately disconnected. I'm sorry, this is just frustrating. 1 1 Quote
Lee B Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 The IRS won't disclose how many employees are still working remotely from home. Sounds like you found one of them. 2 Quote
WITAXLADY Posted April 3, 2023 Report Posted April 3, 2023 I had basically the same experience! I finally called the audit number and they answered right away but could only help me so far - after 1 1/2 hours! she would transfer me. I said another day.. 1 Quote
Randall Posted April 4, 2023 Report Posted April 4, 2023 I don't call IRS for clients. I have them call. The client can wait for hours on the phone instead of me. 5 Quote
WITAXLADY Posted April 5, 2023 Report Posted April 5, 2023 man - How do you get them to do that - I had someone in here for over 2 hours - mostly on hold - wait 5-7 minutes, etc to ID verify 2022 and them checked on his 2021 and after they told me it was coming - he had verified in here 2 x!! already =- he had to do it again as there was no record!! Big party if it ever comes.. D 1 Quote
