kathyc2 Posted October 21, 2022 Report Posted October 21, 2022 What the heck are they doing? Many, many lines added to "main" forms with obscure stuff I've never encountered in 25 years. Not just on the 1040 but also Schedules 1, 2 and 3. Uggghhhh! https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-dft/f1040--dft.pdf Quote
Max W Posted October 21, 2022 Report Posted October 21, 2022 I wouldn't get too excited about it. It looks like the 7 add'l lines will be going to Sch 1 one where they belong. Notice that on Sch 1 they have already made space that could be used for them. And if the IRS doesn't change the current draft, so what! Quote

It took me at least 2 years to get used to where things were on the "postcard" return while reviewing. Now it's hide and seek again where they moved things. Quote
Lee B Posted October 21, 2022 Report Posted October 21, 2022 Yeah, I remember when I used to go thru Form 1040 with my clients page by page. Now I use Drake's 3 year comparison summary plus Schedule C & E 2 Quote
