bstaxes Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 Received this e-mail from ATX in response to my e-mail about being charged $1 for extensions. I have e-filed after this with both returns and extensions and have not been charged. I don't think I can trust this company. Hope Mel gets something to look at. "Your email was passed to me and I’d like to explain the billing situation the best way I can. When I took your order last year I’m sure I told you that your 1040 Office came with 100 free efiles. That is what we were told and some of the details were not completely clear. As I understood it a piggy back efile counts as 1. If you do a Federal only or a State only they each count as 1. If you do an extension for someone that counts as 1. For people doing around 100 efiles that is a good plan. If you have to do many more we recommend getting Unlimited Efile or upgrading to Max. I won’t be able to credit the $2 back to your card, but I would be willing to take it off the price of your renewal if that would help at all. I’m truly sorry for any confusion regarding this matter or any offense I have caused you. That was certainly not my intention. Please feel free to contact me at the number below. Sincerely, Bill William Fox Acct. Management Specialist CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business (O) 800-495-4626 ext. 2352 (F) 800-834-4859 [email protected]" This seems like they don't want me. This was my response. What happens if I don't renew? I will be out the $2. It is the principal of it, not the 2 dollars. I am not the only one that was told it is by ssn. No one said anything about extensions being extra $1. It is not in you website or on my confirmation from ATX last year. This is like changing horse in mid stream. Yes I am upset about this. It is just another thing from CCH that makes me wonder what the future will be and whether I can trust the company or not. Quote
michaelmars Posted April 23, 2008 Report Posted April 23, 2008 i'd probably dispute the charge with your credit card company, even if you drop the dispute after a while it will cost cch hundreds of dollars in man hours to answer the credit card company, correspond with you, etc. Sort of would make me feel better for all the time wasted on hold with tech support etc. But thats just me, i can be spitefull Quote
bstaxes Posted April 23, 2008 Author Report Posted April 23, 2008 I can also be spiteful but all I want is what is right. Charge me for all extensions if that is your policy (did not see it in any of their info) or if I go over 100 e-files. I believe it is a computer glich and they don't know how to solve it. Quote
