Janitor Bob Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 On 04/15 I electronically filed an extension (4868) for a client that owed. She wanted to pay electronically so I entered her account information and chose a date of 04/20/2008 for the payment. Extension is Rejected with Error Code 1040US397....Invalid Date I assume this is because I entered 04/20 instead of 04/15? If so, ...Then OK it was a stupid mistake...but now what? Can I change the payment date and re-transmit? If so, what do I change the date to...04/15..even though it is currently 04/17? Or should I just mail it with a copy of the rejection history and explanation (with a check of course? Quote
kcjenkins Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 I believe you can change the date, and retransmit, and it may go OK. I'd sure try that first. If it gets rejected again, then you print it, and mail it and the check, with a print out of the Ack History. Quote
