cpabsd Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 The SSN has not been received for an adopted child. I am advising an extension for this client but they want to file without and amend later due to stimulus rebate. Does it really matter? I will charge them for the amended return and they understand that. Quote

If they are scheduled for late June or July I would consider an extension. You can get a SS number in 10 days to 2 weeks. I would think if you file in two weeks from today they would still be in time to get their rebate check on time. For a May shedule it might delay the rebate. This is just my thoughts, no references to show. Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 If they file before they get the SSN for the child, I don't think they would get the $300 rebate for the child. I would wait. Quote
