Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 9, 2022 Report Posted March 9, 2022 This is in sort of English which is my first language but I cannot decipher it. X0000-005 The XML data has failed schema validation. Fields commonly associated with this error 1. I cannot even begin to figure this out. It's a rolled over return successfully efiled multiple time. The form goes to the Ohio Electronic Filing Information page. I have double checked every entry. There were no error messages before. Anyone? Quote
Pacun Posted March 9, 2022 Report Posted March 9, 2022 I got the same error from DC. I tried twice and then I waited a week and the issue was solved. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 9, 2022 Author Report Posted March 9, 2022 Interesting! Did you ever figure it out? I looked to see if new forms downloaded were related but they were not. Kind of makes me crazy to not have simpler clues as to the problem. Quote
Lee B Posted March 9, 2022 Report Posted March 9, 2022 Here's more than you ever wanted to know: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-utl/Fixing-Your-XML-Error.pdf More than likely ATX has a small glitch to fix. Quote
Pacun Posted March 9, 2022 Report Posted March 9, 2022 I never figure it out but it has something to do with the receiving end. If it was ATX, it might have issues with every state which was not the case for me. Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted March 9, 2022 Author Report Posted March 9, 2022 Yes, cbslee, more than I want to know. I did read through it and none of the explanations seem to fit especially as there are no forms W-2 and this is an OH error. Hoping it's an ATX glitch but fixed soon. This is a $6000+ refund from OH meant to cover the tax due in KY as they moved mid-year with no change in retirement distribution withholdings. Sigh..... Quote
