Marie Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 Is there any way to check or call or mail to find out about a clients' refund. It was efiled on Feb 25, 2021, for direct deposit. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 Have the taxpayer get an IRS account, or get a POA and use eservices to pull transcripts, or call to request transcripts. 1 Quote
Lee B Posted February 27, 2022 Report Posted February 27, 2022 Or try the low tech approach, Have your client check Where"s My Refund? Next step depends on what Where's My Refund says. 1 Quote

It will only check original returns, not amended. I think that it does the three active years. If you need to check amended returns, there is a separate tool for that. Quote

Once they switched it to 2021, everyone still waiting for a refund lost a useful tool. I guess they figured it would never get this bad, and one year would always be plenty. 2 Quote
jasdlm Posted February 28, 2022 Report Posted February 28, 2022 In my experience, Where's my refund will show the 2020 return info until you file the 2021. Then, as Abby says, you're done. Just looked up a 2020 return with a $13k refund that client has been waiting on. Says 'processing'. 1 Quote
