Jim K Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Tech support doesn't know when we can send efiles or receive acks. They're hoping to have things running before long (How's that for a helpful answer). Why does this happen so frequently and why don't they communicate with their customers? Are they the least bit concerned of a mass exodus of customers to other vendors next season? This is not a good way to end the season. Quote
rfassett Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Whoa! End of the season? Did I sleep a couple extra days? My seaon ain't over for another 5 days. And that is certainly good news, since I have another 70 tax returns to get done before the season is over. But I concur - ATX needs to get it fixed - and soon! Quote
Yardley CPA Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 The most disturbing part for me is the lack of communication from CCH. They have a website. How difficult would it be to post an update to keep us in the loop on what is happening or send out an email?? Quote

How difficult would it be to post an update to keep us in the loop on what is happening or send out an email?? Because that makes to much sense, plus that would be giving good customer service! Deb! MargaretMort Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I got a big red error message, when trying to efile one return about 4 CDT, said IMPORTANT MESSAGE but when I clicked on it nothing happened. I did get through to the "HelpDesk" after about 15 min. and a pleasant speaking young man told me that everybody on the East Coast was filing and the circuits were busy, that I should be able to efile in an hour. I will try in the morning. This was a first for me but I recall getting important messages in past years from ATX that you accessed immediately. Too bad they still don't have that capability. Quote
RDennis Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I just tried to transmit four, and two went through. Then, I re-sent one and it went through. I tried to resend the other, and it didn't go through. So, it seems to be sporadic. R. Dennis Quote
1040PRO Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 I am not a big supporter of ATX's communication to us but they have posted it on the lastest news section of the web site. this is what it says: updated 4-10-08 at 6pm-- If you are attempting to connect to the EFC to send returns or pick up acks, you may be experiencing difficulty connecting. We are making some changes in the EFC to alleviate this problem, but basically all of these errors are similar to "busy signals". You may see "server error", or "Unable to connect" or "Unable to receive". We expect to resolve these issues later tonight. updated 4-10-08 at 6pm--Some Returns missed the drains April 9-- We had some EFC issues late Wednesday that prevented some returns from making the 6pm or midnight drains. We are sending these returns to IRS all day today. Most will be sent by the 6pm drain tonight (Thursday) but some will make the midnight drain tonight instead. CLIFF 1040PRO of GOODYEAR AZ Quote

RDennis Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Just got 8 acks--some from yesterday afternoon and some from the day before. Dennis Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Still missing some 2 day old acks/rejections. What is the logic in performing server maintenance on servers that house an income tax preparation software company's programs, in the middle of the morning, on April 10??? All indications from CCH have been that the problem was related to maintenance, and not repairs. Am I the only one who fails to see the logic? Quote

lydia33 Posted April 11, 2008 Report Posted April 11, 2008 Check the status from the my atx page. If has been sent, accepted,or rejected it will show there first. The person that I talked to last night had me to duplicate and resend some tax returns. I did and all is good to go except problems on the taxpayer......like same ss number already used.....declined because high risk on RAL.......Stuff like that. I will be through when 5 more people come and pick up their returns..............YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
