Possi Posted April 24, 2021 Report Posted April 24, 2021 I'm efiling an Oregon Non-resident return and it's asking me for "ERO LICENSE NUMBER." What is this? Quote
Lion EA Posted April 24, 2021 Report Posted April 24, 2021 Oregon has their own licensing. Does your software give a choice, such as out-of-state preparer? Or, fewer than 10 returns? Or, does Oregon except EAs/CPAs/attorneys? Or,...? Quote
Lee B Posted April 25, 2021 Report Posted April 25, 2021 Oregon requires licensing for every tax preparer since 1973. Quote
Lee B Posted April 25, 2021 Report Posted April 25, 2021 Since you are preparing returns in an office located outside of Oregon, the Oregon requirements don't apply to you. Therefore, you have program issue to overcome. 1 1 Quote

Hmmm, sure it is not asking for the PTIN number to efile? because we only have to put our license on the Oregon page. Quote

I can't get around this "License number" to efile. uggggggg I'll have to call them. Quote
jasdlm Posted April 26, 2021 Report Posted April 26, 2021 Are you using ATX? I only have a couple of Oregon returns, but I have not gotten this error. Quote

Possi Posted April 26, 2021 Author Report Posted April 26, 2021 I have been given the OR PRIORITY line number 503-947-3541. They said it's software. Calling TW now. 2 hrs so far. So frustrating. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 26, 2021 Report Posted April 26, 2021 Since it says ERO license, I just wonder if putting your EFIN in that space would work so you could move on. Quote
Possi Posted April 26, 2021 Author Report Posted April 26, 2021 The spouse last name did not carry to all the forms. A software issue. I got it now. 2.5 hours later. This client could never pay me enough to do this state return. Quote

No, I tried my EFIN, PTIN, and EIN before calling CO AND TW. I just hate chasing bunnies like this. We all do, I know. 1 Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 26, 2021 Report Posted April 26, 2021 I'm glad you got it worked out. I would not mind calling support if they answered right away with no hold time, and the person that answered actually knew something. But I really hate being on hold, or even waiting for a call back because then I have to keep that file where I can get it quickly. 1 Quote
Possi Posted April 26, 2021 Author Report Posted April 26, 2021 Taxwise has always been real good at answering the calls. It's the software that has been a thorn in my side for the last few years. Quote

If the software would nail the state for us, how wonderful would that be? In this military area, it is imperative that I can do these states well, and do them right the first time. It ain't easy. grandmabee Posted May 1, 2021 Report Posted May 1, 2021 Every Year I get 3 or 4 letters where my clients return is changed due to rounding I guess. Tax amount is 1 dollar off sometimes high sometimes lower. It makes me mad because It looks like I made a mistake. Only change is tax amount. Quote
Lion EA Posted May 1, 2021 Report Posted May 1, 2021 I love how the IRS tells us to round to the nearest dollar, but the IRS doesn't round, it truncates. And, sometimes computes the pennies instead of either rounding or truncating. Then, our clients think we did something wrong! 2 Quote

In the 9 years I have been with them I can't remember when I ever waited more than 5 rings before my call was answered. Only twice was the support person unable to answer my question and both times I received a call back within 24 hours with an answer. 1 Quote
