Randall Posted April 13, 2021 Report Posted April 13, 2021 ATX updated the client letter to say that IRA contributions must be made by May 17. I thought the due date remained April 15 for IRA contributions. Quote
Abby Normal Posted April 13, 2021 Report Posted April 13, 2021 No, the IRA due date and the tax return due date are always the same. 1 Quote
Randall Posted April 13, 2021 Author Report Posted April 13, 2021 Thanks. I guess I was getting the ES April 15 date mixed in. With all the new stuff, it seemed there were differences in the extension date. I assumed ATX was on top of it. Quote
Lion EA Posted April 13, 2021 Report Posted April 13, 2021 IRS themselves muddied the waters with their social media posts (I think I saw them on Twitter, over more than one day) telling people they had to 15 April to reduce their taxes by contributing to an IRA. Yes, this was after the 1040 deadline already had been moved to 17 May. I don't know how the IRS expects us to keep everything straight if they cannot. 1 Quote

If we make a mistake, it's our fault. If they make a mistake, it's still our fault! Just keep that in mind and it all falls into place. 3 2 Quote
