Dave T Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 T/P and wife are both self employed music teachers and both are over 65 and thus paying Med B premiums. When I attempt to put amounts on Sch. 1 line 16 it is only carrying over t/p's premium even though I put spouse's on separate line under Business 2. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 Do both schedule C's have profits? Quote
Dave T Posted April 7, 2021 Author Report Posted April 7, 2021 Yes, they do. That was the first thing I thought of but yes. Quote
GLJEANNE Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 And are both businesses listed at the top of the Line 16 worksheet - Business 1 and Business 2? Quote
Dave T Posted April 7, 2021 Author Report Posted April 7, 2021 Yes, Business 1 is t/p's teaching business and Business 2 is wife's. Both have same amount of premiums but only t/p's is transferring to line 16 Sch. 1 Quote
GLJEANNE Posted April 7, 2021 Report Posted April 7, 2021 Bizarre! Worst case, put both premiums under the t/p's business, it doesn't really matter. 1 Quote

joanmcq Posted April 8, 2021 Report Posted April 8, 2021 Did you check that one business was tp and one was spouse? 1 Quote
Dave T Posted April 9, 2021 Author Report Posted April 9, 2021 Yes, checked that as well. Think I'll do as suggested and put total of the two on line for Business 1. Quote
