BobinNJ Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 On the 1099-Misc input, there is a box in the upper right which says to check here to transfer amount in Box 3 or Box 7 to 1040. When I check the box, nothing shows up on the 1040. Am I doing something wrong? If I put an amount on Line 21 subject to SE tax, how do I indicate that? Bob Quote

Open up sch SE and see what you can do. Quote
schirallicpa Posted April 7, 2008 Report Posted April 7, 2008 When you add it to the page 1 of the 1040, it goes to the wage line, not to line 21. Are you sure it's not hiding in wages when you mark the box? Quote
Julie Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 Forgive me for being nosy, but exactly why do you want line 21 income to show SE tax? Normally, if it's subject to SE tax, you put it on the C so the client can take his expenses. Quote
michaelmars Posted April 8, 2008 Report Posted April 8, 2008 ATX is only program where you can't send line 21 to S E that i know of! you can override or put on C - just more useless paperwork! i know the irs want a C but they accept it from all other programs that send income on line 21 to form SE Quote
kcjenkins Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 So now ATX is bad because it does not do it wrong, when the others do? Man, that's cold. Quote
