Gail in Virginia Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Gene, I think more that 2 monitor is extravagant on our field. Just a thought. I'm still using one monitor, so maybe I shouldn't express an opinion, but from reading these posts it seems to me you could easily make a case for the first monitor for current tax return; the second monitor for last year's return; the third monitor for the bookkeeping software for information for the return; and a fourth monitor for e-mail, research, responding to phone calls, etc. In other words, anything you might open another window for. If two are reasonable, I find it hard to see why three or four would not be if your business generates sufficient income to pay for it. Quote
GeneInAlabama Posted June 19, 2007 Report Posted June 19, 2007 Thanks John. I do have two plugs on the same slot, but they are not exactly alike, but very similar. I assume the other one is for another monitor. Gene Quote
JohnH Posted June 19, 2007 Author Report Posted June 19, 2007 Gene: Here's a link to a pretty detailed explanation about video cards & connectors. I like it because it has pictures. http://www.computerhope.com/help/video.htm#01 Quote
kcjenkins Posted June 20, 2007 Report Posted June 20, 2007 I don't think it is extravagant, because in out business, TIME is the one most scarce resource we have, and using multiple monitors can make us more productive by SAVING US TIME by allowing us to have this year's return on one monitor, last years return on another, and this year's client documents on a third, research source on a fourth, etc. You could even have one extra monitor [mounted on the wall, perhaps] that you could use for anything you want to show your client.
