lsowers Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Am I correct in this? Someone who did not have enough SS last year or other qualifying income, but will definitely have enough SS this year can file a return for 08 and get their $300, right? Thanks Quote
schirallicpa Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Looks that way. I'm doing my first 1040A now. It's requiring that I put $1 as interest income in order to create e-file. So that means I have to have a payer. Who gets hit as payer. Let's all pick the same bank - oh say Citibank - and create an additional million dollar payout that they didn't report. Quote

I override $1 on line 8a without bunny hopping to the worksheet. Seems to work just fine. Eli Quote
jainen Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 >>override $1 on line 8a<< This procedure is for someone who has no taxable AGI but is eligible based on 2007 Social Security or Veteran's benefits. The original post was about someone who did NOT have qualifying income in 2007, but will in 2008. The stimulus check is an advance on a 2008 credit. We can expect the instructions to next year's Form 1040A will explain how to pick up a missed or incorrect payment. Quote
