lydia33 Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 Client has answered all questions in regards to dependents as far as income and they provide more than half support..........with this exception.......Taxpayer pays for all expenses,,,,rent, utilities for a house that is rented for these GOOD FOR NOTHING YOUNG ONES to live in. They have no income, why not mama pays for everything. Son, mother of his child, and child live in this rented house......Does that qualify for taxpayers house? They lived there all year. I feel that it should because the taxpayer has all the receipts for rent, utilities, etc. But I'm not IRS Quote
jainen Posted April 3, 2008 Report Posted April 3, 2008 >>I feel that it should because the taxpayer has all the receipts<< Although you may have strong feelings about how this client chooses to spend her own money, I think you should stick to the tax code. Quote
lydia33 Posted April 3, 2008 Author Report Posted April 3, 2008 As I research the problem it says the person must (a) live with taxpayer.........or ( be taxpayers child or descendent of the child......which covers the son and grandchild but not the common law wife. Anyone agree? That is not a smiley it should be the letter b. Quote
