JackieCPA Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 Hello! Hope everyone is having a great 2021! I am trying to e-file a 2019 Form 990. It rejected. The rejection error states that the Year in Submission ID is incorrect: '2020', should be '2021'. Is there a way for me to change the submission ID or will it fix itself in a few weeks when e-filing opens back up for individuals? I guess I always thought that the e-filing was shut-down for individual returns but not for Form 990's, but I guess I usually end up e-filing my last 990 in December and not January, so I never really thought about it or had this problem before. Gail in Virginia Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 You should be able to file the 990 now - that is not considered an individual form. Is the date of the signature in 2021 or is it signed in 2020? I would check the signature date, and then re-create the e-file and see if it works. Quote
Lee B Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 When I was still using ATX, in this situation I would have to delete the efile form, recreate the efile form, then it should go thru. Quote
Abby Normal Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 I usually just efile and let ATX reject it (which happens quickly), then recreate the efile and it's fixed. Quote
kimjo Posted January 14, 2021 Report Posted January 14, 2021 A trick tech support gave me last year was to change preparers to achieve new #. She added phantom preparer "test", switched, then switched back to me. Done. Hope this helps Quote
