cpabsd Posted January 4, 2021 Report Posted January 4, 2021 Who do you use for malpractice insurance? I've never had a claim, but the rates keep going up each year. Because I am a PLLC, my state requires a million in coverage even though I would otherwise not need that large of coverage. Quote
Lion EA Posted January 4, 2021 Report Posted January 4, 2021 I have a group plan via NAEA; underwriters vary by state. Check with your professional groups, and consider adding Cyber insurance, too. (I did.) Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted January 4, 2021 Report Posted January 4, 2021 I just paid mine through AICPA. I opt for $100K/$250K with NetProtect or Cyber insurance. I also have a million general liability through other insurance but this is not specifically malpractice. I've never had a claim in 25+ years (whew!) and benefit from Engagement letter credit of 5%, CNA longevity credit of 10% and Claim Free Credit of 5%. Yes, the rates have increased somewhat but the $190 NetProtect is the ugly part, I think. But I would not go without it these days. 2 Quote
Lee B Posted January 4, 2021 Report Posted January 4, 2021 I pay $ 340 a year for $ 250,000 of coverage thru Hiscox. 1 Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 5, 2021 Report Posted January 5, 2021 I pay $396.00 for 1M coverage thru Hiscox as well. Never had a claim in 24 years either but as others have said, can't be without it. 1 Quote
michaelmars Posted January 31, 2021 Report Posted January 31, 2021 I never had a claim but I have used their resources to talk to an attorney over some client situations and one I was supeona'd and their lawyer got it squashed. Insurance companies are chartered by state so my company might not write for yours. Quote
