Naveen Mohan from New York Posted June 11, 2020 Report Posted June 11, 2020 I am trying to input a 1099 MISC where I have social security number instead of an EIN for payer's TIN. How do I make system to accept it as a SS number. It keeps formatting to EIN format. Thanks for your help Naveen Mohan Quote
Tax Prep by Deb Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 I believe there is an arrow that opens to give you the chouc3. Quote
Catherine Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 Just put in the number and ignore the formatting. Quote

Abby Normal Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 I don't enter 1099MISC unless there's withholding. Otherwise I just put the amount where it belongs. And, like 1099INT & DIV, you may not even need to enter and ID#. And formatting on screens is just for us humans. It doesn't matter one fig for the efile. Quote
Randall Posted June 12, 2020 Report Posted June 12, 2020 I enter the 1099MISC so IRS can see the client is reporting the info. 1 Quote
