WITAXLADY Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 so I have figured out the now 3 1065's rental partnerships that combined or formed with the 3 partners and 1 1065 as a management company to do payroll and joint expenses .. Now I found out they have a corporation? over all of these 4 entities... Wouldn't that corporation file all these? And doesn't the corp have to file? Now I am confused! Thank you, D from central WI Quote
ILLMAS Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 Why not get them to provide you with the legal documents of how these business are structured, how they compliment each other etc.... Get a “Help me, help you” attitude or send them backing with all their confusion. 1 Quote
Roberts Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 I'm not sure how there is a corporation above a group of 1065s. Who was receiving the K-1s? I corporation can be a partner in the partnership. There isn't really a way for an unknown corporation to be above a partnership that I know of. 1 Quote

Lion EA Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 I once sent a prospective client to a large CPA firm because he was a shareholder in a corporation that was a holding company for other entities. He wouldn't provide organization documents and BSed like a salesman and told me how he wanted the return(s) to turn out. I didn't want him for a client and didn't have time to see if he could be trained. 2 Quote
Randall Posted June 1, 2020 Report Posted June 1, 2020 I'm not sure how the corp fits in with this. Where are the properties titled? I have a two member LLC who is the single member of several other single member LLCs. The properties are owned and titled in the single member LLCs which are disregarded. One 1065 and one Ky 765. But Ky does require a Single Member LLC form for each and wants the annual $175 for each LLC. A corporation in this mix would seem very messy. Quote
