TAXMAN Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 501 C-3 FIRE DEPART usually files an extension before may 1, when the first extension would be filed. I believe they now have until July 15. They normally don't get their audited books back until August and then files return. Would you suggest filing the ext now and file return later. They will not owe any tax. Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 I would file the extension now. Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 I am not sure the extended due date applies to 990 returns. Quote
Abby Normal Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 I believe that the only returns that were changed to a due date of 7/15 were returns that were due 4/15. Everything else is the same. Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 The 990 was extended. There's a notice for that and I don't remember the notice number. First notice mentioned only 990-T and a subsequent one specifically included the 990 2 Quote
Gail in Virginia Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 I saw that notice 2020-23 extended the 990-T, but I must have missed the one that specifically mentioned the 990. And being paranoid, I would file the extension just in case. So thanks for the info Lynn! 2 Quote
