M7047 Posted April 20, 2020 Report Posted April 20, 2020 I don't normally have VA returns. I found this information for 2019, would I do the same for the 2018 that needs amended too? Thanks! Quote
Possi Posted April 21, 2020 Report Posted April 21, 2020 You may not need to amend IF you originally included the MIP on the federal tax return. Virginia sent letters adjusting the MIP OFF the original VA return, so I pulled them aside to amend later. VA saw the error and reversed every one of mine, and I had about 6. So, check with your clients and see if they got letters disallowing it, and allowing it back. Quote
M7047 Posted April 21, 2020 Author Report Posted April 21, 2020 I did have it on the Fed for 2019, but it didn't go on the state. I'll check with him to see if he heard from VA and if not amend that. Thanks for the heads-up there! For 2018 it wasn't on either since it was expired at that time. Just wasn't sure where to put it on the return. Thank you both! 1 Quote
