Edsel Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 I've looked through 3-4 pages of posts and nothing about 1099s jumps out. Does the PPP program (or anything else) include people with no payroll but issue 1099s as compensation? Quote
Pacun Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 I think only unemployment benefits will be available for those people. I wonder where 1099 people will get those funds... they come from the federal government. For example, I have a client who lives in MD and works part time for a VA company. So he is collecting about $200 per week from VA. He also works as an Uber driver and needs to collect from the Federal government. I wonder if VA will be the one giving him the Fed money or he needs to do it from the state where he lives. Quote
ILLMAS Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 At what point does it become double dipping? Many many years ago a former client was collecting unemployment and working as a truck driver for a friend, the friend issued a 1099 and that cause for DES to want their money back. This turned out to be a "I hate when this happens" moment for me. Quote

Lion EA Posted April 14, 2020 Report Posted April 14, 2020 SE qualify for the PPP as of 10 April. SE qualify for unemployment as soon as their states set it up for SE. As long as they are in business, they qualify for some/all of the business-related loans and grants. Quote
