JohnH Posted April 11, 2020 Report Posted April 11, 2020 Since the April 15, 2020 filing date has been extended to July 15, 2020, how does this affect Form 4868 filings? Is the extended due date still Oct 15, 2020, or is it pushed out to Jan 15, 2021? Quote
Lion EA Posted April 11, 2020 Report Posted April 11, 2020 A 4868 filed by 15 July gives you three more months to 15 October. 3 Quote
Randall Posted April 11, 2020 Report Posted April 11, 2020 This is one good thing for me. I usually spend a lot of time the first week of April getting these ready, especially for clients who needed to make a payment with the extension. Ky will accept the Fed extension but the local counties/cities want their own extension with a payment. Ky and the local jurisdictions have all conformed to the Fed filing and payment extension. 1 Quote
Burke Posted April 13, 2020 Report Posted April 13, 2020 I am filing all extensions with no money as they have until 7/15/20 to pay and I usually don't have the paperwork to figure out what they may owe. The extension covers the 3 months to avoid the late filing penalty. At least one client is waiting to fund IRA until 7/1/20. Quote
