Tracy Lee Posted January 28, 2020 Report Posted January 28, 2020 EVERYTIME I open ATX I get a window that opens first that says 'Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device? and 'Service Control Manager Configuration Tool; verified publisher: Microsoft Windows Yes or No Is anyone else having this problem? Is this a ATX thing or a Microsoft thing or a Computer thing? I have already tried to 'run as administrator' on the icon and in my control panel and that's not the problem. Just don't want to have to sit on hold with ATX for 2 hours if I don't have to. Quote
TAXMAN Posted January 31, 2020 Report Posted January 31, 2020 Sometimes yes sometimes no. 4 times today ATX has encountered an error the program needs to close. Wonder what the problem is? Brand new computer with win-10 and only tax software loaded. Quote
Abby Normal Posted February 1, 2020 Report Posted February 1, 2020 Sounds like a windows security feature. If you say yes, it doesn't go away? You can also reduce the level of security in Windows Control Panel, User Account Control. I always turn it completely off on my computer. It's too annoying. Quote

Uninstall everything you don't need/want. 2 Quote

When I was still using ATX, I would always have to lower the level of security in the UAC so that ATX would run properly. 2 Quote
