grandmabee Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 I had my IT guy load Windows 10 pro and everything was working until I tried to open prior years of ATX. I have 13,14,15,16 and 17 that I need to be able to work. 2018 works. Anyone else have this problem after upgrading to 10? is there a fix? or do I need to call ATX and wait on hold forever? thanks for any insight. Quote
Abby Normal Posted January 25, 2020 Report Posted January 25, 2020 Download these fix files for every year (everyone reading this should do so as well). https://support.cch.com/kb/solution.aspx/000041746 End all ATX services in task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc or right-click taskbar). RUN THE FIX FILES YOU DOWNLOADED AS ADMINISTRATOR by right clicking and choosing 'run as administrator.' This needs to be done on the computer where you ATX data is. 1 1 Quote
grandmabee Posted January 25, 2020 Author Report Posted January 25, 2020 I was able to come in early today and got right thru to support. They logged in my computer and fixed it. She also offered to download my 2019 program to see if I had any problems. Everything went great and we were done in 23 minutes. Best tech support I have had from ATX since the very beginning. 4 Quote

ATX has dropped the 2014 database repair file and added the 2019. I cannot recommend enough that you download these files every year. I have 14 if anyone needs it: https://send.firefox.com/download/36b94dad48ad57d0/#i-gvch7OTmEBF3Yh_cULog Quote

Abby Normal Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Nope. I learned about this late last year, and 13 was already gone. Fortunately when we moved 13 to our new Win10 computer, it just worked. Quote
ILLMAS Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Is there a fix to able to see 2018 to 2019 rollover files? ATX support was not able to get it working, we can see the number of files on the rollover tab, but no client names. Thanks Quote

Abby Normal Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Try running the 18 repair database batch file. You have to download it here: https://support.cch.com/kb/solution.aspx/000041746 Make sure you close all ATX services and run the batch file as administrator (right click). Quote
ILLMAS Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 I believe the ATX tech did that already because the 2018 base repair was left on the desktop, but I will try again now, also is there a way to fully uninstall 2019 and start from fresh? ATX uninstall for 2019 leaves many files behind. Thanks Quote

I suppose you could delete the folders ATX leaves behind. I use Geek Uninstaller and it scours my computer and registry for bits left behind, to completely rid my computer of software I no longer use. Quote

Abby Normal Posted February 3, 2020 Report Posted February 3, 2020 Actually, in looking at these batch files, they're identical except for the year and the file location. So you can edit the file if you're ever missing one that you need. Quote
