Every time that I try to use it lately, I either can't get to the login page or the process will fail in the last few pages and dump me. i have tried to call their help desk, but after about 30 or so minutes on hold, i have to hang up. Any sugestions? I cannot duplicate your problem, however, I do know that passwords on that system must be changed at periodic intervals...six months I think. Could it be a password problem? The system sometimes does not display the login page, giving me either "This page cannot be displayed" message or an error message having to do with the server. When I do get on, things will progress OK until it just dumps me back to the main menu with no warning. I have been able to use this system in the past with few problems, but in the last 2 weeks or so it's been a mess. Quote

Did you try the link I posted above? Other than trying to contact them, I would suggest that perhaps you might want to think about cleaning out your cookies. May be there is a corrupt one associated with the e-services. Perhaps other more computer proficient "geeks" would like to comment on my supposition. Quote

The lady I talked to was unable to access the system from her end when she tried. She also told me that they have had reports of similar problems for the last week. It seems that the IRS computer geeks are doing a shutdown on Sunday AM to update the system. It seems that service is past due in this case. Thanks for your advice. I was begining to think that I was "losing it" to a greater extent than I already admit. I guess that the best course is to wait until Monday and see if things have improved. Quote
joanmcq Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 I've rarely had problems with eservice. Sometimes if I let a request expire due to being signed on too long, I have to go out completely to the IRS home page and start over. And sometimes the system is down, but the page usually indicates that. One of my coworkers complains it rarely works for him, but I think its him and not the system! Quote
