Naveen Mohan from New York Posted May 3, 2019 Report Posted May 3, 2019 I am hoping to file my 1099 electronically this year. Long time ago I had setup for my TCC number. Today I tried to log in to my FIRE system. When I logged in, it asked me to change my password. I did that and then it asked me to change my ten digit pin. I simply do not remember what pin I had created when I created my TCC number. and there is no "Forgotten Pin" symbol in the FIRE system. What are my options here because the system also say that I cannot apply for a new TCC number. Thanks for your help. Naveen Mohan Quote
jklcpa Posted May 3, 2019 Report Posted May 3, 2019 Try your phone number. Sometime in the past I recall having a similar issue and called the help line and was told that the 10-digit was the phone number I provided when the account was originally set up. 1 Quote
Ringers Posted May 5, 2019 Report Posted May 5, 2019 My TCC number is my SS# followed by the digit "1." Try that if the phone number does not work. Quote
Lee B Posted May 5, 2019 Report Posted May 5, 2019 Interesting, my TCC, that I received early this year is 5 digits( 3 numbers, a letter, followed by 1 number). I don't have a PIN, I applied by fax before Christmas and received a letter in January. Quote
Ringers Posted May 5, 2019 Report Posted May 5, 2019 I said TCC number, but I meant my 10 digit pin. Sorry!! Quote
TaxCPANY Posted May 7, 2019 Report Posted May 7, 2019 I was going to suggest attending this afternoon's (2pm EST) phone-in meeting of the MeF Production Call or emailing it ([email protected]), but then found the attached. Hope it helps. Quote
