BHoffman Posted April 18, 2019 Report Posted April 18, 2019 I am moving soon and wonder if I have to update my EFIN information with the IRS. Looked online and read IRS pubs. Not clear. Does anyone have experience with whether this is required? Quote

BHoffman Posted April 18, 2019 Author Report Posted April 18, 2019 Crap. I can't register online for EServices because our cell phone is in my hubby's name Quote

Also, you just update your existing EFIN number with the new address, not a new EFIN afaik. Quote Notifying the IRS of Changes to IRS e-file Application If a Provider is unable to update its IRS e-file Application electronically a Principal or Responsible Official may either use the firm’s official letterhead or call e-help at 1-866-255-0654 to notify the IRS of changes to the below information: ■ All addresses ■ All telephone and fax numbers ■ e-mail addresses ■ Contact persons ■ Form types to be e-filed ■ Transmission protocols ■ Adding Federal/State e-file ■ Changes to Foreign Filer information ■ Add or remove Provider Options When Providers that are only Software Developers add a Provider Option, they have to submit the application but can continue participation as Software Developers. BHoffman Posted April 18, 2019 Author Report Posted April 18, 2019 Wow! Just got off the phone with IRS e-help and my EFIN application is updated, I'm just waiting for the code letter to complete the EServices registration, and the woman who helped me could not have been nicer!!! 5 Quote
jklcpa Posted April 18, 2019 Report Posted April 18, 2019 (edited) That's great to hear! Maybe someday I'll get around to regaining access to e-services too. Remember that you'll need to provide the proof of change to your software vendor too, update your address(es) in the IRS master file with 8822 +/or 8822-B, and change in the PTIN registration too. Edited April 18, 2019 by jklcpa added reminder to change PTIN too 3 Quote
