501c3 employee donating "unreimbursed employee expenses"

like the title says, girl (w-2) drives her car around and picks up food for a soup kitchen (501c3) using her own car while on the clock. she gets no reimbursement... Sounds to me like a charitable contribution. Sometimes she takes the donators out to lunch.  She attends seminars in other cities focused on helping feed the homeless. She uses her garage as a gathering area and storage space for donated off season clothing. All sounds like charitable stuff to me. Anyone disagree and why? thanks.

You just have to follow the guidelines for the deduction of "out of pocket expenses" as a volunteer .

Under the TCJA, there is no way to deduct unreimbursed employee expenses with the elimination of "misc itemized expenses subject to 2 %".
