Marie Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 client had HSA marketplace insurance, husband and wife, both over 55. Maximum contribution $6900, plus $1000 (for over 55). Do they get another $1000 for wife over 55? I believe it is a family policy as only one premium paid and both on the form Quote
Pacun Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 Yes, they both qualify. The requirement is high deductible plan and in this case they are both in the same plan, so if one qualifies, the other qualifies. Quote
Lion EA Posted April 8, 2019 Report Posted April 8, 2019 I had this a couple of years ago, so don't trust my memory. I think the plan owner gets the extra $1,000. If each owns their own plan, then two $1,000. If one family plan, then one $1,000. As I say, don't trust my memory, but definitely research! Quote
