ILLMAS Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 I am preparing form 8379, last time I prepared one was in 2004 or 2006 and I sort remember I had calculate which portion of the refund belong to each person. I am not seeing that now on the form, and my question is, will the IRS calculate what portion belongs to the husband and wife? Thanks MAS Quote
Possi Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 I don't know how ATX works, but I can tweek the form to throw certain deductions/credits toward the injured spouse on mine. You should be able to do that, too. 2 Quote
Lion EA Posted March 27, 2019 Report Posted March 27, 2019 Yes. You divvy up the dependents, deductions, etc., and the IRS calculates. Although, it's been a few years since I've prepared an 8379 myself. 2 Quote
