Yardley CPA Posted March 24, 2019 Report Posted March 24, 2019 A single client has two sons who are both experiencing issues with drug addiction. They are twins, age 30. Neither worked during the year, they lived at home and the client paid nearly all their expenses. I did read up on the definition of disabled for tax purposes but wondering if anyone can offer thoughts on whether they would qualify as disabled? This would allow for HOH status. Quote
FDNY Posted March 24, 2019 Report Posted March 24, 2019 Probably not as permanently disabled but they qualify for Qualifying Relatives. They would have had to lived there all year. Your client will be bankrupted by rehab costs, I've seen it happen too many times. 3 Quote
Pacun Posted March 25, 2019 Report Posted March 25, 2019 Age is not considered when checking for HOH. He qualifies for HOH on the info you provided. 1 1 Quote
