Jack from Ohio Posted February 7, 2019 Report Posted February 7, 2019 I am having several (12) Fed rejects (#63) that says: "The return submitted contains a duplicate SubmissionID. Recreate this return to assign a new SubmissionID and retransmit it." I recreate the e-files and resubmit, and all is well. I cannot find any reason for the error, and cannot find any commonality among the returns. I would like to know the cause, and be proactive to prevent. We will process nearly 3K returns, this year, at the firm where I work part time, and this is just a time consumer. The Knowledge Base has correction for this area code, but it is for 2012, 2013, 2014, & 2015. (Oxford commas are here to stay!!!) Any information would be helpful. Quote
gfizer Posted February 8, 2019 Report Posted February 8, 2019 Having the same issue and like you haven't been able to identify the problem. Interested to see if anyone has a solution. Quote

Abby Normal Posted March 9, 2019 Report Posted March 9, 2019 This appears to be caused by using a blank template return that you duplicate for new clients. Every one ends up with the same SID. If anyone knows how to generate a new SID without having to efile and then have it rejected, I'd sure like to know! Thanks! 1 Quote
DBerg Posted March 11, 2019 Report Posted March 11, 2019 I have a second fake ERO with the EFIN 111111 and I put that in and then I change it back to my normal efin. I use the "Insert Preparer/ERO on Return" to this 1 Quote
