TAXMAN Posted February 4, 2019 Report Posted February 4, 2019 Church has a parsonage. Clergy owns their own house. Church rents parsonage to a third party. Uses proceeds to pay Clergy's salary. Church has never filed a return. Church receives 1099 misc from Co handling the rent. What do you think the church must or must not do? Quote
TAXMAN Posted February 4, 2019 Author Report Posted February 4, 2019 Found my answer. Must go check to see if there is a mortgage. Quote
MAMalody Posted February 5, 2019 Report Posted February 5, 2019 You might want to also see if this "rental" could change it's property tax exemption. Just a thought. Quote
