Tax Prep by Deb Posted December 7, 2018 Report Posted December 7, 2018 I am trying to finalize a S Corp return. There was charitable donations on the books and I have recorded these (I'm using Drake Software this year) and they are showing as I expected as a deduction not to the Corp but on the Schedule K for the shareholder. So far so good. However when I go and look at the California return, they are giving the Corp a partial credit and carrying the remainder over, nothing flows to the California Schedule K. Am I missing something? I'm new to Corp return preparation but, I can't help but feel that I have not marked something correctly, or is this one of the instances in which California does allow the donation on the actual Corp tax return? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Quote
Max W Posted December 7, 2018 Report Posted December 7, 2018 FTB S-corp allows 10% of income to be taken as a charitable deduction on Line 11. Run your diagnostics and see if there as an error message. Otherwise, call customer service. They will help you right away. CA does not conform with the IRS in many aspect, so be aware of this. Quote
