ILLMAS Posted December 5, 2018 Report Posted December 5, 2018 Question for my non-profit friends, let's say somebody bought a building that was a church or a community center and was exempt from property taxes, now that the building is privately owned, it is now subject to property taxes. Can the new owner apply for property tax exemption if they will be leasing back to church/community center? Thanks Quote
Lee B Posted December 5, 2018 Report Posted December 5, 2018 I don't know about your state, but in my state of Oregon the answer is yes. I have a client who bought a unused school, refurbished the building and leased it a private nonprofit school and obtained the exemption. 3 Quote
