ETax847 Posted August 4, 2018 Report Posted August 4, 2018 When trying to open the 2017 software, I am getting a Server Progress pop up box with the following database server error message: Could not listen to port. Prior status was "Claiming Port'. Does anybody know how to fix this issue? I had a customer service agent help me with it earlier in the week and now the issue has returned. Please help! Quote
ETax847 Posted August 4, 2018 Author Report Posted August 4, 2018 I've tried rebooting and restarting the servers, but neither did the trick Quote
Lee B Posted August 4, 2018 Report Posted August 4, 2018 Yeah, I switched to Drake for 2017. I needed to do several 2016 tax returns, so I receive the same exact message when I try to open ATX 2016. Since I didn't renew with ATX for 2017, I no longer receive any support. Fortunately I was able to do these returns with Drake 2016. 1 Quote
ETax847 Posted August 6, 2018 Author Report Posted August 6, 2018 ATX customer service is not very helpful. Quote
FDNY Posted August 6, 2018 Report Posted August 6, 2018 I don't know the fix, but I would certainly insist ATX introduces me to a higher level techie until it is fixed. Good luck. 2 Quote
Abby Normal Posted August 7, 2018 Report Posted August 7, 2018 Did you recently install or update security software? (antivirus, firewall, etc.) Try turning off ALL security software and see what happens. Quote
Terry D EA Posted August 8, 2018 Report Posted August 8, 2018 If you don't get anywhere with ATX to resolve this issue, then switch to Drake. They can take your ATX client files and convert them to use in their software. Trust me, your problems with be over and you won't be sorry you made the switch. Yes, there is a learning curve but it is minimal. Good luck! Quote
