ILLMAS Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 What fee do you charge your clients for NSF? Quote
taxxcpa Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 Usually I get stuck and they ceased being clients 3 Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 $30. The bank charges us $15 but we have the hassle of letting the client know and processing a 2nd payment. It rarely happens though. 4 Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 My invoice states a $25 fee will be assessed for any item returned by the bank. Hmmm, maybe time to increase that !!! 5 Quote
FDNY Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 I charge what the bank charges. I call and request the additional amount, if client doesn't pay, they're dead to me. 5 1 Quote
Catherine Posted June 13, 2018 Report Posted June 13, 2018 I charge double what the bank charges. Any client gets one strike. Yes, occasionally we get someone who does not make good, and we eat the fee. Way cheaper than chasing them in the long run. I had one deadbeat call me years later, looking for papers relating to her daughter's adoption (she knew we scanned everything). She paid up - with profuse apologies - I went digging and found her docs, she was thrilled. 5 Quote
Crank Posted June 21, 2018 Report Posted June 21, 2018 Only ever had one. 22 yo kid. I passed on the bank charge. 2 Quote
TaxmannEA Posted June 22, 2018 Report Posted June 22, 2018 We pass on the bank charge. If we can't get payment in a certain time frame, we pass it to our States Attorney who has a very good record with such things. 2 Quote
