So I have a number of musicians that would normally charge $1,000 to $4,000 for a gig or event to play at - but because it is for a charitable cause - Cancer Society, Boys and Girls club - they are donating their set-up, etc

Is there anything they can write off besides their miles? Promotion? Lots of $$ lost but not claiming any either - correct...

Thx d

They can claim any related expense that took money out of their wallets for those charitable gigs, and mileage, but not lost money. You are correct. Strings, picks, etc.
