WITAXLADY Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 So I have a number of musicians that would normally charge $1,000 to $4,000 for a gig or event to play at - but because it is for a charitable cause - Cancer Society, Boys and Girls club - they are donating their set-up, etc Is there anything they can write off besides their miles? Promotion? Lots of $$ lost but not claiming any either - correct... Thx d Quote
Possi Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 They can claim any related expense that took money out of their wallets for those charitable gigs, and mileage, but not lost money. You are correct. Strings, picks, etc. 2 Quote
Catherine Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Possi is right - but they could also deduct the cost of any freebies they give out - including promotional CD's. 2 Quote
