ETax847 Posted January 25, 2018 Report Posted January 25, 2018 Doing a multi state NR for someone who worked 5 days in the state of CA. Where do I put the income not earned in the state of CA to subtract that out? I'm not familiar with this state's NR return and am not certain where this adjustment goes. Please advise Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted January 25, 2018 Report Posted January 25, 2018 I am not a CA resident. Do you have CA Sch CA 540NR open? That form does the allocations between total and earned inside/outside CA. In the 'Subtractions' column there should be a 'bunny hop' arrow to take you to an underlying schedule for the allocations. Max W Posted January 26, 2018 Report Posted January 26, 2018 If the 5 days were W-2 wages, it can all be done on the main form, 540NR, as the income is prorated. No need then for the adjustment form. Quote
