schirallicpa Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 I don't have any easy clients anymore.......... New client brought me his "stuff" for a corporation which had not filed returns since inception. IRS was hot after 2014, 2015, and 2016. They wanted those done first, so that is what my client brought me. (I don't have POA, so I'm going by his word) Got them filed in November 2017. He owed and paid corp tax. this past week he brought in the earlier years - 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. He has a NOL in all of these years being carried forward. Now - how do I go about fixing the returns we just filed in November. Can I amend all those and get the tax back for him? Do I file amended returns or do I send in the request for refund (843?)? Which would you recommend. Gotta love these kind of clients. Honestly, he's been a good revenue stream for me this winter. Quote
schirallicpa Posted January 20, 2018 Author Report Posted January 20, 2018 I missed the "timely" election to carry forward, didn't I? Quote

Terry D EA Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 Its funny how things work sometimes. We get so involved in what we're doing that it clouds our ability to recall stuff we usually know. Then posting here all of a sudden turns the light on. I guess its good to just talk about things. Happens to me all the time. 3 Quote
