Edsel Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 At least that's what I was told at a tax seminar in December. More involved in debt relief than anything else, but still claims skilled tax reduction on her website. Sacramento is apparently still her home town. We have at least one member from Sacramento. Know anything about this?? Quote
Lynn EA USTCP in Louisiana Posted January 13, 2018 Report Posted January 13, 2018 thr latest I heard was via a FB post by Karen Hawkins that Roni Deutch has been disbarred. 2 Quote
Max W Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 She has been back since Feb of 2016. Even though she has been disbarred, she can still operate a business and have CPA's atty, or EA's do the representation. https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/roni-deutch-the-tax-lady-is-back-300217444.html Quote
Terry D EA Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 Thanks for the article. While the article doesn't mention she has been disbarred, reading between the lines would suggest so. She claims no wrong doing and all charges have been dismissed. If she did no wrong, then why the disbarment? Hmmmm Quote
Max W Posted January 15, 2018 Report Posted January 15, 2018 She has been disbarred. You can check the CA Bar Association and look it up. Quote
joanmcq Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 Ugh, I wonder why she didn’t get charged. Quote
JRS Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 On August 7, 2015, the Office of Attorney General announced a settlement of the civil and criminal actions against Deutch. Per the terms of the settlement, the state of California withdrew its criminal contempt of court charges and dismissed its civil lawsuit. In exchange, Deutch agreed to pay a fine of $2.5 million and perform 350 hours of volunteer work.[26] DisbarmentEdit Quote
Max W Posted January 20, 2018 Report Posted January 20, 2018 In case anyone is curious, she has a rather low key, one page website. http://www.ronideutch.com Quote
