TaxmannEA Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I need advice from our computer people here. When I try to print a transcript from E-Services, I get a message that it can't find the path to the printer. I usually use chrome, but to print from E-Services I have to use Explorer as the print function on E-Services doesn't respond on Chrome. A co-worker is having the same problem with Pay Pal. Did we have an update that might be causing this or are we just cursed ? Everything else prints OK. It's just those 2 programs so far. Quote
Catherine Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I have used the Chrome pdf printer to save to pdf, then print to paper from that if I want/need. I have also used my pdf "printer" installed on my machine. I admit readily that the e-services "print" function does not work very well at all; you are not the only one to have a problem with them! It has never worked for me; I always use CTRL-P on my browser and go from there. 1 Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I only use IE for eServices. I find it best to use Print button at the bottom of the page. We only print to PDF and have used several different PDF printers over the years. They've all worked fine. Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Has anyone tried CanopyTax yet? It's supposedly free to try. Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I just tried to print from eservices and I'm getting the same path error. Must be a problem with eservices. Off to try Canopy! Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 Canopy failed to pull the transcripts too, which I'm assuming they do as a print to PDF function. Email eservices to complain. The IRS e-help Desk hours of operation are 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday Central Standard Time. Please call the e-help Desk's toll free number, (866) 255-0654. Quote
Lee B Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 There is a long history of federal websites not working well with Chrome. Quote
Catherine Posted June 22, 2017 Report Posted June 22, 2017 I have not used Canopy, @Abby Normal but I do have - and use - and love - THS (TaxHelpSoftware) that is similar. It has fewer functions, for significantly less money. *Beautiful* reports. But I have not tried it today. Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 23, 2017 Report Posted June 23, 2017 Called eServices and they know about the printing problem. A windows update caused it and we have to wait for microsoft to fix. The workaround is to select all, copy and paste into a text document. It now says that at the top of the login page. 1 Quote
Abby Normal Posted June 27, 2017 Report Posted June 27, 2017 Just downloaded an optional windows update that fixed this printing problem. For 8.1 it was called Preview of Monthly Quality Rollup and it was KB4022720. It will be a different KB# for 7 & 10. Quote
