Catherine Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 Grab bars, shower seat, etc. Deductible medical expenses? Not capital items (although the total for several items together went over $500 with installation) and certainly did NOT add to value of house (if anything, it detracted from it). TTB is silent and online articles are hazy. Quote
Lion EA Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 If client has a "prescription"/something in writing from his doctor I'd probably take it. 3 Quote
Margaret CPA in OH Posted April 14, 2017 Report Posted April 14, 2017 Quickfinder lists medical aids such as wheelchairs, ..crutches, braces...and medical equipment and supplies sold "over-the-counter" (without a prescription) including ..crutches,... I would consider these items as necessary as crutches and medical aids and equipment. 3 Quote
