Wendy Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Have had three clients so far give me letters they received from MA telling them that they adjusted their tax liability by about $3. When I look at the ATX calculation on the return, the tax figure is higher than if you multiply by the prevailing rate. Any other Massachusetts preparers have a problem with MA adjusting tax liability? Quote
FDNY Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 Yes, I had it on my own. Was also $3. But when I went back into the return the amount was $3 lower than direct debit so I assume ATX corrected this. My return was not marked complete. Not sure how it got changed. Quote
Wendy Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 I just got off the phone with ATX and they are clueless. Wanted me to sent the file so they could open a case and wanted me to send them a copy of the letter - which I don't have. Saw on their discussion board a few others having the same problem - and always $3. My affected returns haven't changed. Quote
Wendy Posted March 16, 2017 Author Report Posted March 16, 2017 Thanks. I unchecked the "complete" box and opened one of the returns and it changed the calculation. 1 Quote
Jack from Ohio Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 The Russians have hacked ATX and are financing their hacking process $3 at a time... 5 Quote
Lee B Posted March 16, 2017 Report Posted March 16, 2017 The ATX Board has had a flurry of posts with similar problems from several different states. 1 Quote
Pacun Posted March 17, 2017 Report Posted March 17, 2017 I am going to start a new topic which might be similar to this. I will label it... Transcripts from the IRS... maybe we should follow. Quote
